Devan currently serves as Operating Partner at Garden City Equity. He is responsible for overseeing portfolio operations to build enduring, people-first businesses. He supports the team in turning data into execution—supporting design and implementation 100-day plans, commercial excellence, lean ops, and disciplined capital allocation—to drive durable EBITDA growth and cash conversion across our LMM portfolio. Serving as a board member at four portfolio companies.

Devan has more than 25 years of advisory and corporate finance experience. In his last role, he served as CFO at Griffin Brothers Companies, a middle-market family office based in Charlotte, NC. He also served as fractional CFO for several portfolio companies. Previously, he worked as CFO at LMM steel manufacturing business in South Africa, after spending almost a decade in various roles in corporate advisory and investment banking in South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the USA at M&A boutique, One Capital, and Deloitte.

He is a native of South Africa, who holds a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School, graduate and undergraduate accounting degrees from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He is an Arizona-licensed CPA, Chartered Accountant (South Africa), and CFA charterholder.

Additionally, he acts as an advisor to a faith-based non-profit, Nika Capital. Outside the boardroom. Devan finds great joy in the company of his wife and three children. He previously lived and worked in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
