Principal
Nick currently serves as Principal at Garden City Companies. He focuses primarily on sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, structuring & closing transactions, and monitoring & growing portfolio companies.
Nick brings a blend of public holding company corporate development and investor relations experience, along with a background in middle-market sell-side investment banking.
Prior to joining Garden City, he was with SPX Technologies, a publicly traded, diversified industrial holding company focused on engineered products. At SPX, Nick was responsible for the evaluation of inorganic growth opportunities and management of cross-functional confirmatory diligence teams, contributing to the successful execution of seven transactions—including the public divestiture of the company’s Transformers platform. Following that milestone, he transitioned into investor relations, where he worked with executive leadership to articulate SPX’s financial performance, strategic priorities, and long-term vision to the investment community.
Earlier in his career, Nick gained investment banking experience at FMI Capital Advisors, where he advised privately held companies on sell-side M&A transactions across the engineering & construction, utility transmission & distribution, environmental services, and facilities management sectors.
Nick holds a B.S.B.A. in Finance from Drexel University, a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. He lives in Marvin, North Carolina with his wife, where he serves as a Deacon at Calvary Church.
